Well, i am not a regular blogger neither a perfect writer. But then today i have time and thought about writing something... Thinking of all the available topics. i found what could be best than choosing FACEBOOK.
Let's start with the history...
Face-mash is the Facebook’s predecessor opened on October 28, 2003. [1] Initially, the website was invented by a Harvard student, Mark Zuckerberg, and three of his classmates Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz. The website was originally called 'Facemash'. Mark Zuckerberg wrote the software for the Facemash website when he was in his second year of university. The website, was inspired by Zuckerberg’s sense of humor and was set as a type of “hot or not” game for Harvard students.
Ever since Zuckerberg started THE FACEBOOK and made it public, it has spread like computer virus. THE FACEBOOK is a name known and used in every school, college campus, in homes, in offices, in Cyber Cafe's....almost everywhere.
I personally believe that every computer who has even been on internet once, shall surely have Facebook in the history list.
So, now the question arises, why is FACEBOOK so popular....and so widely used. The answer, i shall give in two points.....(more from my personal experiences and views from surroundings)
1. It gives us a platform to perform anytime and from anywhere. If your performance (status updates, pictures, videos, political comments etc) is good then you are sure to get couple of “Likes” and positive comments! This one activity touches the basic need of every human beings crave for appreciation.
2. It’s the very fact that we human beings are more interested in what’s happening with others life than ours. And this is the answer why there is a keen audience who are hungry to know what happens in others life!
The world and life is running at such a fast pace that we hardly have time to speak one another. The competition, the race, and survival ....it has made human turn into animals who like to keep themselves locked up in the world wide web.
Recently, i head in one of the TV shows where the host (RAGHU from MTV Roadies) explained the reason for spending larger number of hours on internet as a disease where an individual like seclusion and is not having any social life.
Facebook is a nice platform to stay in touch with one another, to share the thoughts and express. But one should always have a clock on checking the number of hours you stay with it.
In the end human beings are social animals and society is formed by individuals and not by a group of computer or Facebook users.
It is my humble advice to all, keep the use of Facebook in a limit. Seeing the number of likes on your post would not give you enough joy as when you get the appreciation in person. Keep time to see your friends, spend time with them , with family and all nears and dears.

As a self proclaimed critic to any negative thought that is presented to me, this post or rather your views on Facebook have been a concern of many. Even though the "World is flat" analogy can be evident from the number of Facebook users present & active, the social life has surely taken a hit.

Where emotions, rage and even love is expressed as a graffiti on a "WALL".....Its become a small world but too small for one to comprehend- to live freely and to give freedom.
